PatrickParticipant
I attempted to install the new firmware by attaching the small board to my PC with a USB cable and them using the teensy.exe and selected gameFrameV2_20160226.hex. I press the button on the small board and the LED goes out and the teensy.exe seems to “see it” by getting more colorful. The “Automatic” selection is always grayed out (as is the download? icon) The reboot button is live and seems to work (causes the board to flash its LED)
I tried going to the Teensy.exe forums but didn’t have much luck finding an answer. Is there something I am missing?
PatrickParticipantNot sure since I don’t know all the details but you should be able to append extras zeros to the front so “1” would be “001” and “10” would be “010”. I think the sorting would then work.
PatrickParticipantJust to chime in from my original post… I DID get the remote working fine but needed to test in a bare room with just overhead lights. Once I did that the remote worked correctly. It enabled me to determine that nothing else was interfering. I’ve since taken the Game Frame and remote to my office where it works perfectly. I’m not trying to say these other problems aren’t legit, just my original issue was not a defect/issue with the Game Frame.
PatrickParticipantThanks! I must have messed up something when I converted it with the AniTuner. I still need to do a ground-up revision but I forgot I had 96 frames to this thing.
PatrickParticipantAre there any other files I need to update for this version? I tried it on a GIF I had and it could not create an animation but only a single frame. I went back to the 1.5 version and that worked. I see an error “invalid block label” when trying. I am attaching the GIF that fails with this version. (I made this years ago for a cursor animation)

It took me a while to figure out where certain things are but it wasn’t too bad. I’ll have to dig into the program more. I had an original UFO animation (ani file) some years ago but it didn’t convert down to 16×16 very well. This new one I uploaded was a test to see if I could get closer by hand. The one I uploaded only has 8 frames while the old version had 96 frames. Since you can preview in the trial version you can get a good idea before buying it. It was only 10.49 so it was worth it for me to experiment on.
PatrickParticipantSorry about that. I will try again…

I tried a simple “ufo with alien” 8 frame to see what it would produce. I put the result in the art gallery. This might work but I will have to get used to the application.
PatrickParticipantNow the lower portion of the screen is dead. No lights on about the lower one third of the screen. I have unplugged and replugged but no luck. It worked okay for about 30 minutes and I turned it off, then back on again a few minutes later and the screen is goofed.
