I saw that too. I’ll be curious to see how it looks in direct sunlight.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterAll gone! But the project has been open sourced…
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterWS2812B use variable power depending on color and brightness values. For instance, 256 of them would use 15A if displaying white at full brightness, but 1/3 that if displaying red at the full brightness, or 1/3 for white at 33% brightness.
If you look at the source code, you’ll see Game Frame is capped at 22% brightness.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterProfiles is an interesting idea. I’ll give it some thought.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterThis is great! A few questions… was the need to break the strips into blocks of 4 due to a bad measurement, or really even necessary given the distance from the screen? Seems like a lot of extra work. How do you like milling your own PCBs? Easy to adjust to the limitations? Looks like you used Photon?… Did you get the IR receiver working too?
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterOutstanding!
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterkdc2412: What specific errors did you get?
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterIt will require code changes to use the built-in microSD of the 3.6 and WS2812b LEDs but it can be done. You might even be able to keep IR support with some of the newer Neopixel libraries that don’t disable interrupts. As for the Photon, that replaces the Teensy — it doesn’t add on. Good luck!
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterGame Frame uses plain old MicroSD.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterI haven’t shopped for it in some time, but there were several vendors selling it on aliexpress. It’s a flexible 16×16 WS2812b.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterfbz1501: Yep, send me an email (jeremy at this domain) and we’ll get it sorted.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterAllesoke: Yes, all of the firmware versions are archived on GitHub. Can you describe the problem you’re having though, and how it differs from the old firmware?
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterJust now saw this. Fascinating! I wasn’t familiar with the Pomodoro Technique. Has it benefited you? May have to try it.
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterHello,
I’m afraid a kit is not available but you can easily take it apart with a screwdriver.
As for the wi-Fi adapter, send me an email (jeremy at this domain).
Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterI’m afraid I can’t help you debug your own hardware. You need to run simple test code every step of the way to test each component. Don’t try running Game Frame code until you’re sure everything is working, and then make sure the Game Frame source is configured to the pins you need.
