Good morning Jeremy,

did you secretly update config.ini and did not document it?

I converted a really long movie and saw that the config.ini had a new parameter:

finish = true

which makes the animation finish even when it is LONGER than the selected time to switch in Gallery mode.

Is this official for current releases?

Found the problem. Somehow on one of my IFTTT commands the “Command” function became a “Next”.

Yeah, you enabled that and I could swear that I installed that fix and that it worked before and did not work right after the update. Well, it works now. Happy customer.

Jeremy: Yeah, I thought that was enabled since the last update; or did that option move or not survive the new firmware update? But it worked – the FX are fantastic. I like number three (the four dancing squares) as well as your Matrix!

But: Somehow I am now back in the “old” brightness mode, where low brightness means that the “darker” colours wash out. I need to turn Brightness to at least 2/3rds so that the effects look nice – but that is REALLY bright in a darkend room.

Did you remove that code completely?

Ah, direct Alexa support sounds great – if you can also release it for German. I’m happy to provide any localization you need for this. Just contact me at my E-Mail.

Until then I am using IFTTT to control it via Alexa. Works quite well so far.

As I said – I might be wrong or it might happen depending on whether the card if formatted FAT or FAT32… whatever. Now I know to keep stuff at 8 chars.

Thank you for confirming.

I BELIEVE that pre-WiFi I had directory names that were longer and did display. But memory is clouded and I can’t go back in time and verify.

In my current setup I have, for example, the spinning Sonic ring in a directory called “sonicspin” – and this animation gets played A LOT more than others. I guess that is because you do get truncated 8.3 names (back from the old Win95 days were you had long and short filenames) but somehow that gets called everytime a directory is not found.

I will rename all directories to 8 chars or less over the easter days and see if it changes behaviour.

I solved this by IFTTT – it reboots my Game Frame every night 🙂
