Hi! I’m loving the fancy animations that came with the Wifi Upgrade (I did the DIY route).
Recently, I noticed some dim red flickering in the background (mostly coming up from the bottom) during some animations that have parts of the screen “off” (see photo). Is this normal or is there anything I can do about it?
Not the end of the world, but figured it’s worth asking.
Shoot, I remember seeing this once before a year or two ago. Sadly I forget what the root of the problem was… so let’s start over. Do you see the same problem in all modes (Gallery, Clock, etc.) and do you see it when you swap your Teensy back on there? Are you by any chance using the super secret “apabright” mode set in wifi.ini?
On the Photon, the clock itself has done it (once or twice – one frame of moving the dot around since I’ve been watching), and more frequently on animations between it displaying the clock (if there’s a dark background).
On the Teensy, I can’t see any red flickers on the background. Went through all the animations and focused on the ones where I saw it on the Photon.
No “apabright” setting (true OR false). Its not in the wifi.ini file.
Ok, it’s coming back to me now. Can you try the earliest available Wi-Fi Adapter firmware and see if it does the same thing? I recall it being related to updates in the FastLED libary that I use. I thought it was fixed in the most recent one… hm…
